ROME, (C.M. Paul)  – Bishop Mario Tosso, former Vice Chancellor of the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS) blessed two new halls at the UPS. They were dedicated to the memory of the Servant of God Fr Giuseppe Quadrio and former Rector Major Juan Vecchi, 23 January.
While Fr Quadrio was professor of at UPS-Turin, Fr Vecchi spent his last days at UPS-Rome and died on 23 January 2002. Prof. Quadrio died on 23 October 1963.
The newly blessed halls are located at the former Latinitas library, while the second hall is a refurbished conference room of the Theology faculty.
After the short prayer service and blessing, the Vice-Chancellor of UPS Dr Carlo Nanni presented short power-pint presentations on Quadrio and Vecchi.
While the larger Vecchi hall offers possibilities for meetings, seminars, conferences, doctoral dissertations and cine fora, the Quadrio has a 30 seater oval shaped conference table equipped with high tech presentation facilities including four large flat television screens placed at the floor level.
The adjacent corridor and open space facilitates small exhibitions.
Both the halls have exits onto the terrace and a rear olive garden area.
