KOLKATA, (C.M. Paul) – The Commerce students of Don Bosco School Park Circus Kolkata organized the first ever Bosco Empresarios or Bosco Business Meet (BBM) 2011, 4-5 November.
“This event is an effective platform for young minds to take a small step into the corporate world,” says the Rector & Principal Fr . Siby Vadakel.
The Vice-principal Fr V.T. Jose, the main coordinator of the event, encouraged the students stating the purpose of the meet was “to think, reflect and express,” themselves to develop a new concept raising the bench mark in inter school events in the city.
The members of the core committee were class XII students Rishab Khaitan, Sahastru Jajodia, Saket Singhi, and class XI students Umang Daga, and Tushar Saraff and Sharan Banerjee were among many others who formed the sub-committees.
Among the teachers who worked with the students were: Sam Mathew, Thomas Antony, Samjay Gupta and Sharmilee Acharyya. Teachers who played key roles as moderators for the event were Mr Anupam Banerjee, Mr Barry and Mr Chottaraj.
The participating teams from eight city schools included: Modern High School, St James School, Don Bosco Liluah, St Xavier’s Collegiate School, Frank Anthony Public School, Calcutta Girl’s High School, M.P. Birla School and the host school Don Bosco Park Circus.
The items in the two day events were: Debate on “ Recession: a trend or a cycle,” case studies, marketing strategy, simulated Board room meeting, Quiz, and Fund investor.
While Don Bosco School Park Circus and Modern High schools won the over all third and second prizes respectively, Don Bosco School Liluah lifted the champion’s trophy.
“We are proud of the performance of our school prefect Sourav Mundra in leading the winning team at the Bosco Empresarios 2011,” said the principal of Don Bosco Liluah Brother P.A. Jose.
