Salesian PreNovices start blog

AZIMGANJ, (C.M. Paul) – An enthusiastic batch of Pre-Novices of the Salesian province of Kolkata (2012-13), started their one year immediate preparations for novitiate with the launch of a new website to chronicle their life and times at Savio Bhavan, in Azimganj, Murshidabad.

It all started with a 3-day news reporting workshop organized, 8-10 June.

Besides listening to news reporting theory and trying their hand at taking news photos, each of the 12 candidates put into practice his writing skills by writing a news report about life and activities in Savio Bhavan.

The workshop articles will be put up in the coming days in the Pre-Novices’ blog www.saviobhavan.wordpress.com

The pre-novices come from different parts of eastern India namely from the states of Jharkhand, Odisha and Bengal. These pre-college candidates have their mother tongue: Bengali, Santali, Oriya, Sadri and Hindi languages. Before starting pre-novitiate programme, they spent one year learning English language and religious formation in the aspirantate in the same place.

This year 2012 marks the Silver Jubilee of the foundation of Savio Bhavan. It was started 25 years ago on 3rd August 1987 as an aspirantate. Since 2005 this Institution Houses also the Pre-Novitiate Centre for Kolkata Province.
