The event also marked the start of the Platinum Jubilee of the Theologate which came to Mawlai in 1938 after the Salesian study house of Philosophy and Theology, known as Our Lady’s House Shillong, went up in flames in 1936.

He reminds readers about the context of theological reflection and studies which should be done “within the living and life-giving milieu of the liturgia, martyria and diakonia of the Church (p.ix).
He further explains that “the volume emphasises the Salesian way of being apostles of Christ by tracing the salient features of the spirituality lived by Don Bosco (p. xi) whose birth bi-centenary is scheduled to be celebrated in 2015.
The editors of the book Dr. Paul Vadakumadan (editor of Mission Today Review) and Dr Jose Varickasseril (professor and pastor), both members of the SHTC faculty, give a brief introduction to the compilation of scholarly articles divided between topics of priestly formation such as: Liturgy (3 articles), Moral & Canonical (2), Theology and Formation, (13), Media (4), Salesianity (3), Scripture and Catechetics (6).
They hope that “these writings enhance the pastoral effectiveness of the laity, religious and priests,’ who attend SHTC training program.
