KOLKATA, (C.M. Paul) – In a press release put out yesterday (3 Dec 2012), by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI) at New Delhi, a Kolkata province Salesian was appointed new secretary for its office for education.
The appointment was made by the standing committee of the CBCI and announced yesterday through a press release.
Salesian Fr Joseph Manipadam will take over as the secretary of the Office for Education and Culture, replacing Guwahati province Salesian Dr Kuriala Chittattukalam who completed his second term on Nov 30.
Fr Manipadam, 58, currently serving as the rector and principal of Don Bosco School in Siliguri, West Bengal has been Rector & Principal also at Don Bosco Schools at Kolkata Park Circus and Liluah. He has been 30 years in the priestly and education ministry switching between Bandel, Siliguri, Calcutta and Liluah.
