KALYANI, (C.M. Paul) – Nine members of five religious communities in Kalyani joined young people of Don Bosco Youth Services and Ashalayam for street children to bring Christmas cheer to the inmates of Kalayni Sub-Correctional Home for men, 30 December 2012.
It was the second year that DB Youth Services took this initiative under the leadership of its director Fr Raymond Tudu.

Don Bosco Youth Centre boys and girls besides singing Christmas Carols in English and Bengali, also presented a special item by Sudip Pramanik, a special Christmas rap song in Benglish.
The two hour long afternoon programme held in the prison for some 80 prisoners and their wardens also had moments with Santa Claus and three items from inmates including a skit on Jesus’ parable “who is my neighbour,” two Hindi songs, and a hip hop dance.
The members of the religious communities who took part included Holy family Sisters, Missionaries of Charity Brothers, Sisters of Mary Immaculate, Salesian Sisters and Salesians of Don Bosco.
The gathering coordinated by Mr Subir Roy ended with giving a packet of Christmas goodies for each prisoner supplied by the MC Brothers.
