The book entitled: Man Without Frontiers, the Ultimate Concern of Swami Vivekananda is a critical study of the philosophical anthropology of Swami Vivekananda by Dr. (Fr.) Maria Arokiam Kanaga from Tamilnadiu.
“It is a critical study of the entire philosophy of Swami Vivekananda, meant to create Hindu-Christian friendship and dialogue,” says author Dr Kanaga speaking on the purpose and relevance of the publication.
He adds, “My wish is that this book, which comes out after so many years, (1988) and is still found to be relevant, may help to bring Hindus and Christians towards greater understanding as Swami Vivekananda himself was a great bridge builder between people.”
The 532 page book is doctoral thesis published by InKdia Publications Kolkata to mark the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
The Author Dr Kanaga, Salesian General Councilor for South Asia currently residing in Rome will not be present at the book release.
The book is scheduled to be released on 27th January 2014 at a brief ceremony to be held at Abaninda Sabhagriha at the Kolkata Information Centre, opposite of Calcutta Club, Kolkata.
The publisher of the book Mr Shyamal Baran Roy says, “Present at the occasion will be Rector of Don Bosco School Park Circus Fr Joseph Pathickal along with several Saleisans and monks from Ramakrishna Mission.
Swami Vivekananda (1863 — 1902), a son of Bengal, was a Hindu monk and key figure in the introduction of Indian philosophies of Vedanta and Yoga to the western world. He was one of the most influential philosophers and social reformers in his contemporary India and the most successful and influential missionaries of Vedanta to the Western world.
Publishers & Booksellers Guild, is the organizer of 38th International Kolkata Book Fair to be held at the sprawling Milan Mela Grounds on Eastern Metropolitan Bypass, opposite Science City, Kolkata.
The books will be available in the Kolkata Book Fair, starting on 29th January.
